About Us

Carbon Neutral Volunteer Tourism - Thailand (CNVT-Thailand) is a collaborative network consisting of local organizations, communities, tour operators, schools, universities, government agencies, volunteer sending agencies and individuals who need to include the concept of carbon neutrality in volunteer tourism activities in Upper Northern Thailand and beyond.

Our working areas are in the eight provinces of Upper Northern Thailand, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Phrae, Nan, and Phayao. Both supply and demand sides are included in the network. So far, 24 destinations are potentially ready to provide carbon neutral activities for volunteer tourists from around the world.

Carbon Neutral Tourism

Carbon Neutral Tourism: Tourism that has the goal of not creating a strong impact on the environment. By measuring the impact of quantity "Carbon Footprint" from tourism activities before compensating for the impact by procuring "Carbon Credit" which came from rehabilitation activities and create a source of greenhouse gas absorption, removal or direct capture. To reduce all impacts to zero. There is no or virtually no greenhouse gas emissions.
